Quality of Life Boosts
Boogie Bashers » Devlog
It's finally here!
In case you hadn't heard, I quit my full-time job! This has freed up much more time to work on the game since I'm in charge of my own schedule now. This is the first major update since I went independent, and it has a bunch of much needed quality of life improvements.
Game Loop
- game rooms now persist after ending, eliminating need to recreate or join a room after finishing a game
Visuals
- add an glowing outline to show when a player is in a spotlight
- replace heavy powerup's red glow with a more fitting metallic texture
- improve player HUD
- improve text of player names with outlines
Other
- add shift as an alternate way to push ( now you can play the game with only keyboard)
What's Next?
The next release will finally address one of the biggest impediments to marketing the game at a broader scale; getting local and online multiplayer in the same build.
A few things that are in the works:
- local and online multiplayer all in one build
- fixing and re-enabling joystick/gamepad support
- fixing numerous bugs discovered in 0.7.2 (with great features come great bugs)
